About
I am a contemporary impressionist painter based in the Netherlands, working across landscapes, still life, floral and animal subjects.
Art has always been a constant in my life, but following a serious accident and a long recovery period, painting took on a deeper meaning. The canvas became a space for focus and stillness, gradually evolving into my professional path as an artist.
Commitment to Growth
In 2025, I began investing significantly more time in my painting practice, with the goal of developing my technique and artistic voice. I now paint 4-5 days per week in my studio, constantly working to refine my approach to color and composition. I work from a thoughtfully organized home studio, with a separate space for drying and varnishing. This setup allows me to focus entirely on the creative process.
I am a member of the Tim Packer Academy, an online community of painters—from beginners to advanced—who are developing their craft together. Through weekly online sessions and exchanges via the Facebook group, I learn not only technical skills but also how to share my art with the world. I also regularly immerse myself in books on painting techniques, color theory, and compositional principles.
For me, painting is about seeing the world differently—transforming everyday scenes into luminous moments through bold color choices and deliberate composition. While many painters work in an impressionist style, I aim to bring a more saturated, vibrant approach to color that sets my work apart.
Looking Ahead
Since March 2026, I have launched my online gallery to share my work with art lovers worldwide. In the coming year, I am focusing on participating in art markets, further developing my compositional mastery, and building a community through social media—to promote my work, connect with fellow artists, and engage with people who appreciate my vision. Each painting I create is part of this journey—a commitment to growth, authenticity, and the pursuit of artistic excellence.
My Work
In my impressionistic paintings, I explore light, spatial depth and colour as expressions of resilience and movement. Whether capturing landscapes from Europe, North America and beyond, the intimate beauty of a still life, the vibrant energy of blooming gardens, or the gentle presence of animals, my work is characterized by luminous colour fields, visible brushwork and a strong compositional structure that guides the viewer through each scene.
Each painting is created in oil on gallery wrapped canvas (most linen), carefully dried for at least six to eight weeks before shipping and finished with a retouch varnish.
Luminous Impressionism
Luminous Impressionism is my approach to painting in which color, energy, and simplified forms come together in powerful compositions.
The word luminous refers not only to light, but to intensity. My paintings are built from saturated planes of color that interact with one another, creating an inner radiance. The image glows through contrast and rhythm.
Forms are simplified yet remain recognizable. The subject is not rendered loosely or fleetingly, but deliberately constructed within strong, cohesive compositions. The brushwork remains visible and contributes to the vitality of the whole.
Luminous Impressionism combines expressive color with controlled structure. The result is work that is not atmospheric or accidental, but clear, powerful, and present.
